About Mark Toye
Mark Toye is an engineering geologist who has extensive experience working for Ground Investigation contractors across all sectors throughout the UK and overseas. Mark is experienced in the delivery of, estimating, measurement, tender preparation, bid preparation, cost plans, cost reporting for all scales of ground investigation as well as providing contract administration under the NEC3/4 and ICE suite of contracts. He has been involved in some of the largest ground investigation in the UK including 10 years working on various HS2 projects worth over £80m and the £26m Lower Thames Crossing GI that Socotec UK undertook.
In addition to his work for SOCOTEC UK, Mark is Chair of the British Drilling Association’s (BDA) Technical & Standards Committee and is Vice Chair on the BDA main committee. He sits on the BSI committee for Ground Investigation and Testing and is listed as a co-contributor to the ICE’s 3rd Edition of the UK Ground Investigation Specification.

Mark has been the Business Unit Director for the Ground Investigation business at SOCOTEC UK since January 2023. Prior to January 2023 Mark was the Estimating Director at SOCOTEC UK’s Infrastructure Division. Mark has previously worked for Soil Engineering Geoservices formerly Norwest Holst Soil Engineering part of the VINCI group of companies in various geotechnical positions.
