About Gavin Armstrong

Gavin has extensive experience working with clients in the Energy generation sector. He is a technical expert in manual and mechanical sampling, sample preparation and physical test methods of solid fuels, specifically biomass, solid recovered fuels and coal. He leads field projects, assists the quality manager with method development, reviews and training. Gavin is additionally involved in the day-to-day support of client accounts.

An important part of Gavin’s job is being an active participant in standardisation through SOCOTEC UK’s membership of BSI Technical Committee PTI/017. He represents the UK on two International Standard Organisation Technical Committee’s, ISO Technical Committee 300 – Solid Recovered Materials including Solid Recovered Fuels, and ISO Technical Committee 238 – Solid biofuels. He actively participates in several working groups within both committees.
