In addition to our core learning and development courses, we run the SOCOTEC Technical Training Academy. This supports employees’ development; offering opportunities to gain academic and professional qualifications, memberships to professional bodies and enhanced management skills. So far, our learners have achieved qualifications including Level 3 Diploma in Laboratory and Associated Technical Activities (LATA); Level 3 Certificate in Laboratory Technical Skills; and Level 3 Diploma in Applied Science.

Our Roles

To provide such a wide range of services, we need a workforce with a diverse range of skills. Here are just some of our key roles:

Laboratory

From our network of UKAS-accredited testing facilities across the UK, we offer multiple technical disciplines across the Infrastructure & Energy and Environment & Safety sectors. We therefore need an expert team to perform and manage analysis. This work could involve anything from geotechnical studies and foundations testing, to health and safety compliance. Although the projects are wide-ranging, the day to day tasks can sometimes be repetitive. The work of our lab team is crucial in helping diverse organisations deliver projects, and in providing peace of mind by assessing risk and compliance.

Field

With clients located all over the country, we need experts to travel nationwide and carry out work on site. You can join us in a variety of technical and analytical posts, with Driller and Surveyor two of the most important. No matter your role, you can be sure we’ll make your job easier by providing the latest technology.

  • Driller

This is a very exciting role where you could work on all kinds of projects; everything from foundations for buildings to £multi-million land reclamations. We work on highway, power, rail, utility and industrial developments – both on land and over water – so expect plenty of variety and different working locations.

  • Surveyor

As a Surveyor, you’ll get to use the latest underground utility detection technology including Radio Frequency Location (RFL) and Ground Penetration Radar (GPR). And soon, you could be using advanced laser scanning systems too. With the chance to master and use this state-of-the-art technology, you’ll be at the forefront of progress in your field.

  • Head Office & Support Team

In addition to a wide range of technical and field roles, we have some great opportunities within Head Office and our Support Team. Here, we need professionals in everything from Finance and HR, to Sales and IT. As our business grows and evolves, the scope for people in this team is growing ever broader.
