SOCOTEC UK & Ireland’s latest Management Conference took place at Whittlebury Park in Towcester, with over 200 delegates from across the business coming together to provide updates on recent ongoing projects, as well as looking to the future.
The two-day biennial conference featured multiple speakers from across the business, with evening award presentations celebrating standout achievements.
Among the speakers for the conference were:
· Herve Montjotin, SOCOTEC Group, CEO
· Matthew Marriott, SOCOTEC UK & Ireland CEO
· Jason Goodwin, SOCOTEC UK & Ireland CFO
· Lisa Massey, HR Director, as well as 14 other speakers from across SOCOTEC
Dr Paul Redmond also led a presentation discussing the generational shift in workers, expanding on the differences between generations and how they need to adapt their communication and working patterns to efficiently work together.
AI was quite heavily discussed over the two days, with a presentation from Indy Pahal (IT Director) and Rebecca Davison (Head of Digital), detailing how AI can be used as efficiently as possible, alongside a business use case study from Asbestos.
HR Director Lisa Massey discussed our people initiatives, including apprenticeships and leadership opportunities, while Ireland’s organic growth was also discussed, as SOCOTEC looks to expand into the market further.
The fire testing specialists at United Kingdom Testing and Certification (UKTC), A SOCOTEC Company, discussed their fire resistance testing and how it has changed over time, with a second furnace being operational soon.
A presentation was led by UKTC’s Operations Director, Andrew Hutchison, who demonstrated how the team and its facilities have drastically grown since 2019.Also welcomed to present at the conference was LSTC, which, having been acquired a couple of months previously, discussed how it fit into the wider SOCOTEC group.
Acquired by SOCOTEC in 2024, Aspect, now known as SOCOTEC Land & Hydrographic Surveys, were represented by its Operations Graeme Thromson, who provided an update on the firm’s output.
“Our biennial Management Conference was an opportunity for all of our teams to come together. This date becomes even more important with every edition, as we look to expand further across the UK and Ireland.
“This year it was especially great to see our newly acquired colleagues, and we look forward to what is to come as we work more closely together.
“We truly believe that we are in the best possible position for our customers, and we hope to only improve in the future.”
As well as rewarding SOCOTEC teams that showed major improvement over the last 12 months, the evening award presentation also highlighted Paul Gadd, Business Unit Director for Infrastructure, as he celebrated 40 years with the business.
With a slideshow of images commemorating him and his family, Paul thanked those in attendance for their help over his decades with the company.
