Continued Contract with SUEZ Recycling and Recovery UK

    Sun 06/05/2016 - 16:21

ESG, the UK’s leading testing, inspection and compliance company, has secured a contract with SUEZ recycling and recovery UK (SUEZ) previously SITA UK, to provide laboratory services for all landfill sites in the UK.

The three year contract, which also offers an option to extend for a further year, includes provision of laboratory services, including water and soil sampling for all of SUEZ landfill sites, transfer stations, civic amenity sites.

ESG’s Energy & Waste services division already boasts an existing relationship with SUEZ, having provided radiochemical, groundwater and leachate analysis to the recycling and waste management company since 2011. To secure the new agreement, ESG went through a competitive tender process with SUEZ and was able to offer additional services, including noise and dust monitoring, which will now be a key service for the account.

Having worked with SUEZ for over four years to provide monitoring work, ESG is well placed to seamlessly continue with the analysis required at the varied UK sites, without the client having to experience any downtime for handover, or loss of accuracy in results.

With progression as a core value, ESG continues to innovate in the testing, inspection and compliance market and its latest investment in Large Volume Injector (LVI) equipment for aqueous organic analysis will be used for SUEZ. The new equipment requires smaller sample volumes, saving the client time on-site, reducing carbon footprint in transportation and saving money on containers and transportation.

Further innovation for the new contract includes ESG’s quick reaction to the new legislation to implement a new HMRC method for the analysis of fines for Loss on Ignition (LOI), which is vital for SUEZ and the wider waste industry. What’s more, ESG’s new lean laboratory approach is designed to cut waste out of our processes, which will reduce average turnaround times for SUEZ, as well as ESG’s other recycling and waste management clients.

Partnering with clients also remains a priority for the ‘Client-Focussed’ company and this will be brought to life on the SUEZ account, with a dedicated laboratory account manager on-hand for any requests, as well as additional technical support and guidance available from some of ESG’s leading technical experts.

Zoe Cooper, business development director, Energy & Waste Services at ESG, said: “ESG has been a leading provider to the energy & waste sector for many years. With the launch of our Energy & Waste services division last year, we’re now confident that there is more clarity around our broader offering to some of the UK’s leading recycling and waste management companies. The award of this major contract from SUEZ further secures our position as a key service provider in this sector.

“With our existing relationship with SUEZ already spanning four years, we believe their decision to continue to use us is testament to the ongoing work put into the relationship and contract management by both ESG and SUEZ. By again choosing ESG, SUEZ guarantees the seamless continuation of the contract and can continue to rely on our reliable and robust monitoring data which is vital for SUEZ reporting to the Environmental Agency (EA).”
