Manual Handling Training Course
This course aims to ensure delegates have appropriate training as required to under the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992.
Poor manual handling continues to be one of the top causes of workplace injuries across the UK. There are not many occupations where manual handling is not carried out and it is essential that all those employed who carry out manual handling tasks are suitably trained.
Upon completion of the course, delegates will be equipped to explain why manual handling is a significant health and safety concern, outline the key factors that may lead to injury during manual handling tasks, and understand the importance of reporting any relevant health conditions. They will also develop an awareness of the associated risks and necessary precautions, and be able to demonstrate safe and effective lifting and carrying techniques.

Aims and Objectives
This course aims to ensure delegates have appropriate training to enable them to meet their legal duties under the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 (as amended).
To provide practical skills to reduce the risk of delegates developing manual handling injuries and to follow safe lifting practices.
Course Overview
On completion of the course, delegates will be able to:
• Explain why manual handling is an important health and safety issue
• Outline the factors that can lead to injury from manual handling operations and the Importance of reporting relevant health conditions
• Be aware of the risks and precautions related to manual handling (Task Individual Load Environment – TILE)
• Demonstrate correct lifting and carrying techniques.
Outcomes
At the end of their training and subject to successful completion of the multiple-choice test, delegates will be awarded with a certificate demonstrating their understanding of the subject matter. While there is no expiry date for this certification, delegates are recommended to undertake refresher training every three years, or earlier if products change, in order to update and enhance their knowledge in line with any regulatory changes.

The Manual Handling course is classroom-based training, delivered in-house at your venue for up-to 12 delegates per course
