SOCOTEC Wins Silver at Considerate Constructors Scheme Awards

    Tue 17/04/2018 - 04:53

SOCOTEC, formerly ESG, is celebrating after receiving a Silver Award at the recent Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) National Site Awards.

The CCS National Site Awards aim to bring together the best of UK construction to reward commitment that have improved the industry’s image. In order to be recognised, award winners will have demonstrated care and consideration towards the community, the environment and workforce during their projects.

Construction sites, companies and suppliers voluntarily register with the non-profit organisation and agree to abide by the Code of Considerate Practice, designed to encourage best practice beyond statutory requirements.

The recent ceremony took place on Thursday 12 April, at The Lowry Hotel, Manchester – one of 12 ceremonies across Edinburgh, Manchester and London – which saw construction industry professionals and leading figures presenting the awards.

In the category of ‘£1m to <£5m’, SOCOTEC was awarded a Silver certificate for project Delta Junction Area Z, Ground Investigation for HS2.

Speaking about the win, Stephen Tomlinson, principal geologist and project manager for SOCOTEC, commented:

“We, at SOCOTEC, are delighted to be recognised for our commitment and hard work in delivering results to our clients, while maintaining a consideration for the wellbeing for those working on site, the surrounding public and minimising the impact on the environment where possible.

“Having won a bronze award last year, it is fantastic for the team’s competency and efficiency to be acknowledged with a Silver certificate as we continuously strive to improve our working practices.”
