    New Site Opened in Cirencester

    Mon 12/08/2014 - 10:55

This month, ESG, the UK’s leading provider of environmental inspection, testing and compliance services, will be opening new premises in Cirencester, following an investment in excess of £250,000.

The new facility brings together the former Swindon and Mitcheldean offices, in a move which commenced at the beginning of 2014 and will be completed by the end of the year. A total of 50 employees will be based at the new site at the Bankside Business Park in Cirencester, providing a range of field and laboratory services including, asbestos management, environmental monitoring, water hygiene consultancy, occupational hygiene and stack emissions monitoring. The move to Cirencester will also create further job opportunities in the area, as the team continues to expand.

ESG’s former laboratories in Swindon, located in the Great Western Railway Village, are now home to a new University Technical College, offering an education for students aged between 14 -19 years old with a focus on engineering. It was therefore a great opportunity for ESG to move into larger premises and in the process, help to facilitate the development of a new educational institution.

The facilities at the new Cirencester site have been designed specifically around the needs of the business, its clients and the requirements of its UKAS accreditations.  It is one of a network of regional laboratories across the UK, with the Cirencester hub servicing its clients in the South of England and South Wales.  As well as extensive laboratory facilities, the office includes modern meeting rooms and new training facilities, where the company now delivers its Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses. As a field-based business, accessibility is paramount and with the site being located near to the M4 corridor, ESG can be more responsive and accessible for clients.

Laboratory facilities at the new site include asbestos fibre identification, microbiological testing of potable and process waters, chemical analysis of environmental water samples and trade effluent, as well as atmospheric particulate analysis. The laboratory capability supports its field consultants extensively, providing the opportunity for ESG to work with more businesses locally in Gloucestershire and the South West. The services provided from the Cirencester site, all form part of ESG’s environmental & safety compliance solutions, which helps businesses and regulatory authorities, adhere to health and safety regulations and manage environmental risk.

David Gough, ESG’s operations director, commented on the recent move:

“The new site at Cirencester is part of the group’s overall strategy to co-locate complementary compliance services for our clients. We chose Bankside as it is not only in a great location geographically, but also because the new facilities there will enable us to provide an efficient service to our existing clients. In addition, this creates the opportunity for our team to establish relationships with more businesses in Gloucestershire and the surrounding area.”
