About Humza Khan
Humza Khan is a Senior Fire Engineer leading the Manchester Fire Engineering team at SOCOTEC UK. He has experience in developing fire safety strategies and bespoke fire-engineered solutions for a diverse range of projects, including residential high-rise buildings, offices, industrial and storage facilities. Furthermore, he has experience in the rail and transport sector.
Humza is leading the preparation and delivery of the fire safety sections of the Building Safety Case Reports for Higher-Risk Buildings for submission to the Building Safety Regulator (BSR). His role also involves collaboration between multi-disciplinary teams at SOCOTEC to deliver comprehensive fire safety assessments to cover a large portfolio of buildings for leading developers in the UK.
In addition, he is supporting the development of the Manchester Fire Engineering Office through the training of graduate fire engineers and ensuring the financial growth of the team.

Humza joined SOCOTEC UK in November 2023 as Senior Fire Engineer – Manchester Lead. Previously, he served as Fire Research Consultant at BRE Group, UK. His early roles include Research Assistant at Aalto University, Finland, and construction site Civil Engineer in Pakistan.
