Our fully UKAS-accredited bespoke site laboratories allow for complete control over on-site and laboratory testing, with efficient turnaround times and a cost-effective solution – meaning the larger size and longer duration of a project, the more benefits you will see.

Today’s site owners and contractors require large amounts of environmental data on a quicker turnaround basis. Across the country, teams of SOCOTEC experts can set up a purpose-built, in-situ technical support facility that provides clients with an efficient, cost-effective service.

On-site laboratories offer increased levels of flexibility for the testing of aggregates, soil, bituminous and water. This allows all the test information to be quickly reviewed and recorded in the project summary database and immediately reported back to the site team.

Mobile laboratories support faster decision-making on-site, while reducing inefficiencies in the process.

Our UKAS-accredited, quality-assured site laboratories provide rapid turnaround of results, enabling confidence with ongoing construction activities and helping to avoid delays in time-critical reporting.

SOCOTEC’s UKAS accreditation for site laboratories is covered under our flexible scope which is regularly utilised and allows for UKAS accreditation to be secured with immediate effect, upon the successful completion of our internal audits.

This gives SOCOTEC the ability to provide accredited testing within four to six weeks once set-up has been completed – giving the experts on-hand the opportunity to take responsibility to deliver accredited testing.

Support across the whole asset lifecycle

Another major benefit of working with SOCOTEC is the ability to bring in other services from the SOCOTEC group that would complement the on-site laboratory facilities. On recent projects that have required on-site laboratory testing, SOCOTEC has also provided Asbestos, Monitoring services, including drilling and water testing laboratories.

SOCOTEC site laboratory facilities are supported by our network of local commercial laboratories for additional testing and flexible resources. In 2024, we successfully managed over five site laboratories concurrently in collaboration with major contractors across the UK, as well as the planning and delivery of multiple concurrent site laboratories over the last 30 years.

From small two to three people provisions, to our largest which comprised over 22 people over a six-year period: ultimately, we aim to work with clients to define the most efficient site laboratories maximising efficiency and quality.
