SOCOTEC'S EXPERT WEBINAR SERIES CONTINUES...
Join SOCOTEC's remediation specialists for an insightful webinar exploring the practical application of bioremediation technologies in the field. This session will provide an introduction to bioremediation principles, the delivery methods used to apply remediation amendments, and the key factors that influence the success of in-situ treatment programmes. Using real project examples, our experts will demonstrate how injection drilling technologies can be used to effectively deliver bioremediation, chemical oxidation and contaminant immobilisation solutions across a range of challenging sites and ground conditions.
What We'll Cover
- What bioremediation is and how it works
- Aerobic and anaerobic remediation processes
- Biostimulation, bioaugmentation and monitored natural attenuation (MNA)
- In-situ remediation technologies and amendment selection
- Injection drilling and field application methodologies
- Injection wells, direct-push injection and borehole packer systems
- Factors influencing treatment design and amendment distribution
- Understanding Radius of Influence (ROI) and injection point spacing
- Managing field challenges, including daylighting and site constraints
- Real-world remediation case studies from across the UK
- Emerging technologies and the future of bioremediation applications
Who Should Attend?
This webinar is designed for environmental professionals involved in contaminated land assessment, remediation and redevelopment projects. It will be particularly relevant to contaminated land consultants, remediation contractors, geotechnical and environmental engineers, developers, site owners, regulators, infrastructure project teams and anyone responsible for managing ground contamination risks. Attendees will gain valuable insight into how field application strategies can support safe, sustainable and cost-effective remediation outcomes.

SOCOTEC UK & Ireland Strategic Acquisition of LSTC Group
Serving the UK's electrical transmission and distribution network sectors, LSTC has become the sixteenth acquisition made by SOCOTEC UK and Ireland since 2017, with the move enhancing SOCOTEC's existing infrastructure capabilities.
Since its inception in 1954, LSTC has established itself as a trusted provider of engineering, design and asset inspection services primarily for the UK's regulated energy infrastructure sector. The company serves transmission owners (TOs), distribution network operators (DNOs), independent connection providers (ICPs/IEPCs), and project developers across the energy infrastructure sector. LSTC's service portfolio includes overhead line design and CAD services, survey capabilities, geotechnical assessments, earthing solutions, infrastructure projects, and comprehensive asset inspection services. Its revenue stream is well-diversified within the UK's RIIO-regulated energy infrastructure market, which reached £2.8bn for transmission and £4.4bn for distribution in 2024 and is expected to continue growing through to and beyond 2030.
Geotechnical Monitoring: Hastings Relief Road Project
A single carriageway road is being constructed along a disused railway line from Bexhill to Hastings in East Sussex in order to ease congestion and improve the air quality along the A259 at Glyne Gap.
Monitoring system: Inclinometers, Extensometers, Vibrating Wire Piezometers, Standpipe Piezometers, Deep Datums, Hydrostatic Profile Gauges, Settlement Plates, Settlement Pins. A Hochtief Vinci Joint Venture was awarded the main contract with CJ Pryor appointed to undertake 1million cubic metres of earthworks. To ensure effective placement of these earthworks, ITM Monitoring, now SOCOTEC Monitoring UK Ltd, was contracted by CJ Pryor to monitor settlement, inclination and pore water pressures by installing a range of geotechnical monitoring instruments across the entire route. The works comprised of a full rotary coring site investigation on a railway cutting in addition to the drilling of 97 boreholes up to 22m deep with the supply and installation of 30 inclinometers and extensometers, 53 vibrating wire piezometers, 5 standpipe piezometers, 8 deep datums, 4 hydrostatic profile gauges up to 150m long, as well as the supply of 164 settlement plates and 168 settlement pins.
