ESG a leading provider of environmental inspection, testing and compliance services, has secured a ten year contract with Sellafield Ltd.
The new contract involves ESG continuing to provide radiochemical, chemical and asbestos analysis to support Sellafield Ltd’s facilities characterisation team in their on-site decommissioning and site investigation projects.
Sellafield Ltd is responsible for safely delivering decommissioning, reprocessing and nuclear waste management activities on behalf of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority.
The multi-million pound contract ensures the continuation of existing analytical support, but will see the implementation of new methods that have been developed to widen the services offered by ESG. The laboratory will also be installing a sample preparation facility that will allow a variety of new methods to be utilised for the analysis of decommissioning materials including various metals, concretes and woods.
