The first of the framework agreements will see SOCOTEC provide asbestos management services via the NHS Shared Business Services framework, a joint venture company which provides a more efficient method of supplying business services to NHS trusts. As part of the two-year framework agreement, SOCOTEC’s Asbestos team will be available to support framework members with the management of asbestos at their NHS properties across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
To qualify for the framework agreement, SOCOTEC was assessed on a wide number of criteria, including confidentiality, service standards, staffing, recruitment, contract management, continuous improvement and social value, achieving the maximum score for excellency across many of these.
SOCOTEC has also been awarded a two-year framework agreement with South East Consortium, a not-for-profit organisation delivering efficiency savings to the public sector, such as social housing providers, local authorities, education and health-related organisations. The team will be available to provide a range of services as part of the framework agreement, including asbestos management, inspections, refurbishment, demolition and re-inspections, as well as air monitoring.
Nick Harper, operations director, SOCOTEC, commented: “Being awarded two framework agreements during these unprecedented times is testament to SOCOTEC’s excellence and commitment to providing comprehensive and up-to-date asbestos management procedures.
“We look forward to supporting the members of both frameworks with their asbestos management requirements over the next two years, helping them to ensure full compliance with current legislation and their Duty to Manage.”
