About Miles Martin
Miles Martin is a Chartered Geologist with over 35 years of experience in geotechnical and geoenvironmental ground investigation. His expertise includes geotechnical and geoenvironmental investigation design, field and laboratory techniques, the formulation of sampling and testing strategies, the construction and refinement of ground models and risk assessments, data presentation and evaluation, and the interpretation of investigation findings. Miles’s technical report writing skills including Phase 1 desk studies, factual reports, geotechnical interpretative reports, Phase 2 generic quantitative risk assessments (GQRA) and indicative waste assessments.
Miles has been involved in at least 1,500 projects to date, in both the private and public sectors, ranging from residential, commercial and industrial developments to highways, railways and bridges, pipelines and sewage treatment works, located throughout the British Isles.

Miles Martin has been a Principal Engineer at SOCOTEC UK since 2014. Prior to his current position, he was a Technical Manager at Environmental Scientifics Group and a Regional Technical Manager at Soil Mechanics. In the early part of his career Miles worked for C.J. Associates Geotechnical Limited.
