    About Hugh Johnson

    Hugh Johnson is a Senior Building Control Project Manager for SOCOTEC UK, who has experience working for both clients and contractors on residential, commercial, Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Defence projects throughout the UK. 

    Hugh has been given many papers in UK, Australia, and many countries in Europe on building regulations and allied building construction matters on behalf of the Institute of Building Control, the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, and the Consortium of European Building Control. He was also responsible for obtaining Chartermark and Quality Assurance accreditation for North Kesteven Building Control Unit and was Quality Assurance Manager. Qualified internal auditor on BS (ISO) 9001

    Hugh has been a Senior Project Manager since 2017, prior to this Hugh was a Project Manager for Butler and Young. Hugh has previously worked as a Building Control inspector, Assistant Officer, Deputy Officer and Chief Officer for North Kesteven District Council.

    • 1970 to 1974 North Lindsey College of Further Technology, ONC Construction and HNC Building
    • 1974 to 1977 Leicester Polytechnic Part time course for Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors
    • 1976 Direct Final Of the Institute of Building Control
    • 1995 Post Experience Certificate in Advanced Management De Montfort University
    • 1998 CLAIT and IBT II Computer studies
    • 1999 to 2004 studied for BSc (Hons) in Fire Safety Engineering Leeds College of Building (LMU) achieving a First Class Honours Degree.
