SOCOTEC's Career Day with the Grace Academy

The Grace Academy pupils interviewed the SOCOCTEC Materials Testing, Structures and Pavements and Ground Investigation teams. Our staff enjoyed telling the pupils about their roles and inspiring them for science based future roles.

While finding out about the different roles here at SOCOTEC, the students took a tour of our state-of-the-art laboratories where they had the opportunity to learn about materials testing, including a demonstration of a concrete cube compressive strength test.

The pupils also took part in the Tower of Pisa challenge, which required them to attempt to rebuild a model of the Pisa tower on soft ground. As the students competed to build the highest tower, they demonstrated their ingenuity and their skills in teamwork.

This visit continued to build and nurture our relationship with the academy.
