SOCOTEC Building Control Employees to Participate in Charity Rock Event

    Fri 17/09/2021 - 12:59

Several SOCOTEC Building Control employees will be participating in Construction Rocks, an annual battle of the bands competition.

The competition brings together amateur bands made up of individuals who work within the construction industry, with all proceeds raised donated to a worthy cause. At the end of the evening, a panel of judges will decide the best band and the best performance.

This year, SOCOTEC Building Control’s band, Stairwidth to Heaven, have chosen to donate all proceeds to Maggie's Centres, a charity which provides free cancer support and information both in the UK and across the globe.

Stairwidth to Heaven is made up of the following SOCOTEC Building Control employees:

    • Felicity Allerton, office manager, Southampton (bass)
    • Joshua Thomas, Building Control surveyor, Cardiff (vocals)
    • Mark Tambini, associate regional director, Cardiff (guitar)
    • Graham King, regional director, Southampton (drums).

“We are proud that a number of our employees are once again participating in the Construction Rocks event,” said Chris Wallis, managing director, SOCOTEC Building Control. “Now that we have rebranded under the SOCOTEC umbrella, it’s a fantastic opportunity for us to increase our profile and raise even more funds for this worthy cause.

“I would like to wish Mark, Graham, Felicity and Joshua the best of luck and encourage as many employees as possible to donate what they can in the lead-up to the competition.”

Construction Rocks is due to take place on Wednesday 6 October at Under the Bridge, located at Stamford Bridge (Chelsea FC football stadium). If you are interested in attending, please contact Joanne Cunningham at joanne.cunningham@socotec.co.uk.
