UKTC showcase services at major UK Fire Safety event
Fire testing specialists, UKTC, A SOCOTEC Company, returned to the halls of Birmingham’s NEC for a fourth straight year at the 2026 Fire Safety Event.
The event, held between 28th-30th April 2026, is one of the most well attended fire safety industry events, welcoming firms linked to the sector, with thousands of attendees passing through each year.
UKTC’s engaging stand saw plenty of information regarding its fire testing capabilities, including its UKTC ensure™ third-party certification scheme for passive fire protection products.
There was also a presentation space, dubbed ‘The Fire Test Experience’, where several of the firm’s knowledgeable fire testing experts shared their accrued competencies with gathered on-lookers, interested in learning more.
This included Dan Fitzsimmons, Head of Testing, providing live commentary over a fire resistance test, Andrew Hutchison, Operations Director, discussing the road to achieving a reaction to fire BS EN 13501-1 classification, as well UKTC’s Senior Technical Services Officer, Tom Smith, talking through the process of developing Extended Field of Application reports, ahead of the incoming 2029 regulatory changes.
Other talks came from Mark Garfield, UKTC’s National Sales Director, as he walked the audience through the importance of third-party certification, while representatives from SOCOTEC, the Fire Door Association (FDA) and Knauf rounded out the lineup, which also featured a panel discussion regarding the transition to EN testing, featuring contributions from the likes of Quelfire, Isoclad and Robust UK.
Andrew Hutchison, said of the 2026 event:
“We are now a firm fixture at the Fire Safety Event. It’s a great opportunity for us to check-in with our clients, as well as meeting our colleagues throughout the industry.
“This year, there’s been lots of buzz and interest at our stand, with customers and prospects keen to see what we have to offer, now we sit within the wider SOCOTEC infrastructure.
