With over 14 vans transporting teams across the Yorkshire Water region to conduct essential flow monitoring and water quality surveys, our fleet plays a crucial role in daily operations. However, recognising fleet emissions as a significant opportunity for "Green" advancements, we have spent the past seven years implementing proactive solutions to reduce our environmental impact.

A cornerstone of this initiative has been the introduction of the Lightfoot system, an innovative fleet management solution designed to enhance driving efficiency while minimising emissions. By providing real-time in-cab coaching, Lightfoot encourages drivers to adopt smoother, more economical driving habits, leading to reduced fuel consumption, lower carbon emissions, and less vehicle wear and tear.

This system has contributed significantly to SOCOTEC's ongoing sustainability efforts, reinforcing our commitment to responsible environmental practices. Yet, our journey toward net zero does not stop here. Every step we take builds upon our progress, ensuring that carbon savings remain a daily focus and that we continuously seek new ways to improve efficiency and reduce our footprint.
