Meeting High-Precision Testing Challenges at Dublin’s Marianella Development
Lloyds Testing were appointed by Brazil Piling and Foundations to carry out static, dynamic and integrity testing at Cairn Homes’ luxury Marianella development in Rathgar, Dublin.
With its goal of delivering optimal build quality, energy efficiency and the best possible customer experience, Cairn Homes’ development in Rathgar, one of Dublin’s most distinctive old villages, is just three kilometres from the city centre and in an architectural conservation area.
Brazil Piling and Foundations installed all the piles with two number CM 50 rigs over a two-to-three-week period. LDG Lloyds Testing carried out static, dynamic and integrity testing on 245 No. 450 diameter CFA piles with depths ranging from six to nine metres.
The team used both 6MN and 3MN beam set-ups to facilitate both preliminary and working tests simultaneously providing an efficient and cost-effective testing regime. Dynamic testing was carried out using Lloyds Testing 3.2t SAM RAM hammer, mobilising capacities up to 2750kN. The hammer system and 3MN beam can also be mobilised on one 40ft low loader, providing the client with further savings.
Integrity testing is ongoing.
