About Robert Carlisle
Robert works for SOCOTEC as Fire Damper Team leader with a wealth of experience within the ventilation business, carrying out fire safety assessment in line with Fire Damper Legislation. He has extensive knowledge with a professional background in ductwork installations for more than 30 years which brings a comprehensive understanding of building fire performance, human behaviour in fire, and fire safety legislation. His previous experience within fire/ smoke ventilation) further reinforces his depth of technical knowledge and ability to interpret and apply fire safety standards accurately.
At SOCOTEC, Robert manages a team in delivering estimating, tender preparation and putting together fee proposals with cost reporting, as well as providing contract administration within the Fire Safety Practice function.

Robert has been a Fire Damper Team Leader at SOCOTEC UK since February 2026. Prior to Roberts current position, he has worked on a wide range of building types, including residential, commercial, and public sector premises.
His work involves detailed inspection and reporting on fire/ smoke dampers within compartmentations to identifying deficiencies, and providing clear, evidence-based recommendations to ensure compliance.
