About Ian Campbell
Ian Campbell is a Principal Geologist with over 20 years of experience in geotechnical and geoenvironmental ground investigation. His expertise includes geotechnical and geoenvironmental investigation design, field and laboratory techniques, the formulation of sampling and testing strategies, the construction and refinement of ground models and risk assessments, data presentation and evaluation, and the interpretation of investigation findings. Ian’s technical report writing skills including Phase 1 desk studies, factual reports and geotechnical interpretative reports.
Ian has been involved in at least 1,000 projects to date, in both the private and public sectors, ranging from residential, commercial and industrial developments to highways, railways and bridges, pipelines and sewage treatment works, located throughout the British Isles.
Professional Experience
WITH THE COMPANY SINCE 2005 | OVER 20 YEARS IN THE INDUSTRY
Ian has been a Principal Geologist at SOCOTEC UK since 2019. Prior to his current position, he served as a field engineer and site agent for Exploration Associates and as a Senior Geologists for Soil Mechanics and at Environmental Scientifics Group. Prior to entering the industry Ian served for twelve years in the Royal Air Force.
