SOCOTEC Appointed to New National Social Housing Framework

Reallies Partnership is a collaborative partnership, including Procure Plus, Central Housing Investment Consortium and Efficiency North (EN), to ensure social housing projects are completed on time and on budget.

The national framework allows social housing providers to easily access to consultancy expertise quickly, for construction-related services. SOCOTEC joins 95 other consultants appointed to the new framework - but SOCOTEC has been chosen for dual services.

For both social housing new build and refurbishment projects, SOCOTEC will be able to provide consultancy services for both asbestos surveys and site investigation.

Understanding the condition of the land is fundamental for any construction project. If adverse or unexpected ground conditions are not recognised at an early stage, last minute design changes, delays and additional costs may occur. An independent asbestos consultant can then advise on the remedial works required to remove the asbestos in preparation for refurbishment or demolition. In conducting the refurbishment and demolition surveys, social housing providers can be assured that those conducting the works will not be harmed by ACMs. Plus, depending on the presence of asbestos, the right removal contractor can be appointed to undertake the works in the right way.
