    New Digital Management System Launched

    Tue 03/29/2016 - 15:05

ESG, the UK’s leading provider of testing, inspection and compliance services, has launched a new web based customer portal, ESGi, to help its clients manage their projects more efficiently. The digital management system allows customers to access real-time data generated from test and inspection work on their sites, anytime, from any location.

ESGi works by taking information from a wide range of sources, including the company’s growing portfolio of mobile applications, and combining it in one central management system. This data is then presented to clients through the intuitive ESGi dashboard, which eliminates the need for a printed logbook.

The system incorporates robust security architecture and provides administrators with powerful, granular controls which allow them to have complete authority over data access. This means that each user is only presented with information relating to the sites, regions or data types that have already been assigned by the client administrator, protecting the integrity of confidential and sensitive data.

A working prototype of ESGi was first unveiled at the 2015 Facilities Show in London, where ESG won the event’s Innovation Award.

Norman Sleeth, group commercial director and managing director, Built Environment Services, ESG said: “ESGi has been designed with the client in mind, being both powerful and easy to use. Its interface allows our clients to proactively manage their tasks, saving them time and maximising efficiency on projects.”

“Making sure we are at the forefront of technology is a fundamental part of who we are as a business. This is why we invest heavily in our IT infrastructure so we can provide state-of-the-art services for our clients.”

ESGi is fed from a number of ESG mobile apps, including SILAS, its geotechnical app and HYDRO, a suite of water management apps. SILAS allows ESG’s engineers to input and store large amounts of complex data including strata descriptions and site records, eliminating the risk of transcription errors. HYDRO allows consultants and field technicians to input water treatment and monitoring data on site, and report it back to clients in real-time, providing greater visibility and ensuring a faster turnaround.
