Leading Health & Safety Standard Awarded

ESG, the UK’s leading provider of testing, inspection and compliance services, has been awarded accreditation to the BS OHSAS 18001 standard for Occupational Health and Safety Management.

Awarded by certification body, SGS, the accreditation demonstrates that ESG has in place stringent policies, procedures and controls to optimise health and safety measures at its facilities. As a result, the organisation meets the highest industry standards to provide a safe, supportive working environment for its employees and for site visitors.

The certification covers ESG’s sites that carry out geotechnical services, including Bretby, Bridgend, Deeside, Carcroft, Glasgow, Maidstone, Southam and Wokingham.

Chris Morgan, group compliance director at ESG, said: “We’re constantly looking to optimise health and safety across all of our operations to ensure our team members feel happy and protected when going about their work.

“Receiving the BS OHSAS 18001 certification gives us a reliable, independently verified indicator of how well we are doing. Not only does it show our commitment to safeguarding the wellbeing of everyone using our facilities, it also recognises the fantastic work of ESG’s team in implementing and maintaining our health and safety measures.”

The accreditation is in addition to a number of other certified standards awarded to ESG, including ISO 14001 Environmental Management and ISO 9001 Quality Management standards, both of which verify the organisation’s commitment to lowering the environmental impact of its operations as well as its dedication to ensuring the highest quality services for clients.

ESG also holds seven UKAS schedules of accreditation, meeting the requirements of the internationally recognised standard ISO/IEC 17025.
